...ENERGY EFFICIENT TRIPLEX GLAZING SINCE 2010 !

 

In 2010, Garoufalis Glass became pioneer once again, when it started importing energy efficient triplex glass panels, especially the ClimaGuard Neutral 70 (Laminated) 3mm+3mm και 4mm+4mm. As a result Garoufalis Glass became the first company in Western Greece to offer double glazing solutions with triplex type glass!

Why should I choose energy efficient double glazing instead of the regular?

Nowadays, modern building architecture is characterized by the increased use of glass in all types of constructions. Well lit houses and offices play an important role in the quality of our life. But why should the consumer choose energy efficient double glazing instead of the regular types?

The (very transparent) regular type glazing leads to increase of the temperature and ultraviolet light inside the building. This is resolved with the use of energy efficient glass, which can reduce the unwanted solar energy and reduce energy loss to at least 40%. As a result, the cost of heating is reduced and maximum light transmission is ensured!

The "famous" heat transfer coefficient in simple words (U-Value):

The U-Value factor is a parameter the defines the rate of heat transfer through the main body of a glass panel. It specifies the percentage of heat transfer between the opposing sides of a glass panel, which at any time are at different temperatures. The U-Value factor is measured in Watt per square meter per degree in Kelvin (W/m² K).

For exampe a regular 4mm thick glass panel of 1 m² that has a U-Value of 6, and heat loss of 6 watt.
On the other hand, a energy efficient double glass panel (4mm Sunguard® + 15mm space with argon + 4mm clear) of the same size has a U-Value of 1,1 W/m², i.e. 6 times less energy loss!

 

 

 

Warranty offered by "Garoufalis Glass - GUARDIAN INDUSTRIES"

The energy efficient glass panels that Garoufalis Glass imports exclusively from Guardian Industries are produced within the EU. The production process involves pouring multiple layers onto a glass substrate, which is a method based on the patented method Silacoat™. The unmatched technology used deposits extremely thin layers on the glass with a uniform appearance and high optical properties. Also, these glass panels provide mechanical and chemical resistance, high light transmission, ​​superior heat capacity values (U-Value ), as well as low shading coefficient.




QUALITY, CERTIFICATION AND STRICT ACCORDANCE TO INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS

Double glazing produced by Garoufalis Glass is certified by the Dutch Certification Institute TNO, under the auspices of Tuv Rheinland, in accordance with European Directive EN 1279-2 2010 and are certified with CE, which we provide with written proof.


Garoufalis Glass strictly follows the international standards of construction to achieve maximum efficiency and energy saving. It should be mentioned that:

 

During the manufacturing of energy efficient double glazing we strictly follow the following:

 

- ONLY use "COLD" SULFUR BASED GLUE for the second (final) stage of sealing     

- The glass panels are cleaned EXCLUSIVELY by our automatic washing machine

- ALWAYS apply the first step of sealing (butul)

- Insertion of a neutral gas (argon) in the gap of double glazing, produced EXCLUSIVELY by specialized machinery

- In energy efficient double glazing, the side with the energy efficient coating is ALWAYS placed as the inside panel facing outwards for better preservation of the coating

 

ATTENTION:

At Garoufalis Glass the energy efficient double glazing sealing is done using only COLD sulfur based glue. This is mainly due to the fact that the weather conditions in Greece, strictly prohibit the use of warm sulfur based glue, because there is high risk of detachment at high temperatures during summer time.

 

Together with your invoice, we deliver the necessary documentation that ensures the quality and performance of our products. These documents include:

 - Written CE Certification (Ar.Pist.: 10617R-10.-29231, YEAR CREDIT.: 2010)

 - Measurement of Energy Efficiency * for energy efficient double glazing.

 

*THE CALCULATIONS ARE PERFORMED USING A CERTIFIED SOFTWARE SOLUTION FROM THE GLASS PANEL MANUFACTURER GUARDIAN INDUSTRIES
